About Me
This is the place where I tell you all about me… where I went to school, what trainings I’ve attended, what sort of experience I have, and everything else that you might want to know about me.
I’ll get to that in a minute, but I first want to talk about the type of client that I have the most success helping and what it looks like when you show up for sessions so you can decide whether I would be a good fit as your therapist. Because, at the heart of it, this is more about you than me.
You will be most successful in therapy with me when you show up in session week after week, ready to do the work, knowing that I don’t have fairy dust in my pocket and a magic wand up my sleeve to whisk your problems away. You come to session ready and willing to face what’s keeping you stuck, working hard to figure out what’s going on, and following through.
You are committed to your own growth and ready to change habits that are no longer serving you. You’re tired of replaying old narratives in your head that keep you in a perpetual state of feeling inadequate. You know it’s time to do the work.
When you show up to our sessions, be prepared to explore the connections between your past and your present, and how your past experiences are informing your responses in your current interactions. We will work on changing your thoughts and beliefs, about yourself, about your perception of others, and about your world. When you change your thoughts and beliefs, you can change how you show up in all of your interactions, experiences, and relationships.
You are looking for a change in your life, or you wouldn’t be here on my site, reading all about me and how I work. If you want your life to be different, you must be willing to do things differently. Repeating the same actions and behaviors over and over again, and expecting different results is keeping you stuck in a persistent cycle of unending pain and suffering. It’s time to do things differently.
I graduated from University of Phoenix, Bay Area Campus, with a Master of Science in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy. I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, #129717, and an Idaho Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, #3861561. I help adults manage and recover from toxic relationships, thrive after psychological, mental, and emotional abuse, and I help individuals overcome habits of codependency and people-pleasing.
I am a grama to two beautiful little girls, a horse mom to two big, beautiful boys, and a dog mom with pawprints on my heart. I am an abstract artist, I love to color, and I read a lot of horror and thriller stories.
I hope this helps you determine if I am the right therapist for you. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
